Originally set for Battleground, this triple threat for the Intercontinental Championship had to be shelved due to Ryback’s sudden staph infection in his knee. Instead, Miz cut a promo and Big Show showed up to punch him out. Rather than move on, the two active members of this feud have been in a holding pattern. Big Show continues to be a big jerk and talks up how he’ll take out Ryback when he returns. Miz keeps tabs on Big Show and insists that Ryback should have to forfeit the championship due to his inability to defend. Ryback's injury is still pretty bad, but apparently he's in good enough shape that they announced the match for SummerSlam.
